A space highlighting circularity and innovation as the foundation of new sustainable developments in environmental matters

This constantly evolving and expanding collection incorporates a significant component of research and tracking of innovations. It is a source of information about types of raw materials of biological origin, recovered sources, or the utilization of by-products, as well as the latest advancements promising innovations for the future in various industries such as construction, transportation, and textile industry, among others.

DISCOVER THE MATERIALS
FROM THE FOLLOWING COMPANIES:

PYRATEX

Materials: biodegradable elastanes, abaca fiber, bamboo fiber, agricultural byproduct fiber, bio-based recycled, and synthetic-based recycled. Highly functional natural fabrics.

VESHIN

Material: Mirum.

MIRUM® is the world's first plastic-free alternative to leather. A low-carbon, bio-based material adjustable for creative expression.

TEJIDOS PALLAY

Material: Fabrics woven on handloom with threads of cotton, pineapple, viscose.

CASA CANNA

Material: Hemp Textiles.

Hemp fabric is a textile made from fibers extracted from the stems of the Cannabis Sativa plant.

Material: Mango Leather Sheets.

Fruitleather Rotterdam gives a new life to wasted mangoes through a process that turns mango fibers into a vegan leather-like material, which is then sold to designers worldwide.

FIQUETEX

Material: Vegetable leather from fique.

Fique vegetable leather is an adaptable and durable alternative to bovine and synthetic leathers. Its design and appearance are similar to animal leather, without the negative environmental consequences.

EUROINSUMOS

Material: Inputs (especially buttons) made from renewable or recycled materials. Coffee buttons, cannabis buttons, horn buttons, wooden buttons, coconut buttons.

INDUBOTÓN

Material: Buttons made from recovered bio-based and synthetic materials.

Buttons from wood, coconut, Tagua, Totumo, and buttons crafted from 40% of the industrial solid waste generated in the company's production processes.

ECOSANTEX

Material: Recovered cotton, textile from batteries, and Kapok cotton textile.

Kapok cotton is an alternative to replace regular cotton, as it is a wild plant that requires minimal water and does not necessitate the use of pesticides.

UNIVERSIDAD DE MEDELLÍN | FACULTAD DE DISEÑO

Material: Prototype materials using living matter of plant origin.

Tangerline: Mandarin peel

Cuerpel: Human hair

Polibel: Beet peel

Developed in the Biofilia Material class.

UPB X EXPOFARO

Material: Cottonized Fique Denim.

A process applied to the fique fiber to enhance its use in the textile and fashion industry. This method produces fibers similar to cotton and can be used for textile bases, such as those used in the production of garments like jeans.

Through this patented process, the fique fiber is conditioned and softened, giving it characteristics similar to cotton.

BANANATEX – QWSTION

Material: ® Technical fabric made from Abaca banana plants. (Abaca is the hemp fiber from banana or Musa hemp).

VESCOM

PROTELA

Material: Recycled fibers from recycled plastic bottles, pre-consumer polyamide, or regenerated thread. Biodegradable recycled polyester.

REMEANT

Material: Recycled synthetic leather - an eco-friendly textile created from recycled plastic used in packaging materials. It is waterproof, washable, highly durable, and lightweight. It can be used to produce ethical fashion items such as bags, home decor, accessories, and clothing.

THERMORE

Ecodown® has traditionally been the sustainable alternative to real feathers, with a composition entirely recycled from PET water bottles.

Thermore EVOdown® takes inspiration from the soft hand and sublime nature of blown fibers but achieves the desired effect with fewer limitations. The product is a compound of freely rolled fibers and provides encapsulation to stabilize these free fibers within the garment.

ARTEXTIL

Material: Material: Ecovero Viscose from certified wood sources, with environmentally responsible processes.

Ecolores: Recycled colors - 80% of their generated waste is recycled (printing paste, plastic, paper, boiler ash, and scrap).

PROTELA

Material: Recycled fibers from recycled plastic bottles, pre-consumer polyamide, or regenerated thread. Biodegradable recycled polyester.

FABRICATO

Material: Recovered cotton, textile with hemp fiber and biodegradable elastomer. Textile with pineapple fiber and cotton.
